Hurricane Beryl knocked out water to my neighborhood for four days in July 2024. That's how I became the neighbor people started texting when they had preparedness questions — I spent the next year testing gear and apparently word got around. I figure I might as well be useful about it.

If you're comparing storage options, working out how much water your household actually needs for a specific scenario, or troubleshooting something that isn't performing the way the specs said it would — send a note. I can't evaluate gear I haven't personally tested, but I can usually tell you what I have real numbers on and what I'd want to know before buying. I also can't give safety advice on water quality in specific emergencies — that's a local health authority question, not a gear question.
